Javier Egipciaco – General Manager & IC Operations Lead
Javier Egipciaco joined us at NU Hotel Brooklyn as General Manager in November 2009. He is a native New Yorker, residing in Park Slope, Brooklyn for the past 11 years. Accepting this position was a perfect fit for Javier as he knows firsthand of the experience Brooklyn can offer visitors from all over the world. Javier comes to us from Gemini Hospitality where he was the Area General Manager for three GEM Hotels located in Manhattan. Javier played an integral role in creating and launching the GEM brand and will look to have a similar impact in the Independent Collection Hotels at Hersha. In 2011, Javier was appointed as Operations lead for Independent Collection Hotels, leading the field teams through transition. He has been an invaluable hand in the growth of the Collection, while continuing to manage NU Hotel. Prior to his work at Gemini Javier spent 8 years with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts working at the Stanhope Park Hyatt New York.
Jennifer Goodman, Assistant General Manager
Jennifer joined NU as a Sales Manager in 2010 and was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2013. She has worked in boutique and luxury hotels in Long Island and Manhattan along with resorts in Alaska and Washington State. An alumna of the University of Alabama, she uses her particularly Southern brand of humor along with the unusual combination of Sales and Operations background, to guide the NU team to the next level in guest service.
Maria Gonzalez, Executive Housekeeper
Maria has been a part of the NU team for five and a half years, since the hotel opened. She began her career at NU as a Supervisor and quickly rose to become Executive Housekeeper. She has over twelve years experience in the industry and brings her knowledge and energy to our guest rooms every day. She guides our housekeeping team with an eye for perfection and a passion for details. The rest of the NU team has to run to keep up with Maria!
Michael Webster, Housekeeping Supervisor
Michael comes to NU by way of Ohio and brings his Midwestern charm to every guest interaction. He began at NU as a Guest Service Agent and was quickly promoted to Housekeeping Supervisor. He is a sports fanatic and is currently learning Spanish. Michael is working toward becoming a General Manager of his own hotel one day, and is focusing on learning every position in a hotel’s operation to get there.
Katsiaryna Busko, Sales Coordinator
Whether you are getting married, throwing a party or having a social or business function, Kat is the woman to talk to! She brings her European style to the NU team and handles every wedding or group request with efficiency and grace.
Christina Selementi, Bartender and Events Coordinator
Christina is our guru of all things cocktails! Her exuberant personality and extensive food and beverage knowledge keep our guests at Misdemeanor happy and full five days a week. When she’s not brightening someone’s day with a welcoming smile and expertly poured drink, she can be found exploring her new city, as she is originally from upstate New York. Her enthusiastic approach to service inspires our guests to feel like they’ve shared a drink with an old friend.
Daniel Garcia, Guest Service Agent
Native Texan, Daniel Garcia, has been in the hospitality industry for over ten years. Combining his experience in all aspects of hospitality including Concierge, Front Desk and Food and Beverage with his love of all things NYC, Daniel is our go-to for restaurant recommendations, events and fashion happenings…his passion for the City is contagious!
Dan Testa, Guest Service Agent
Dan Testa is a resident of Brooklyn by way of South Jersey, When Dan isn’t providing the best in guest service, he is providing the best in indie pop/rock singing in the band Stevie and the Lion.

Rebecca Karrin, Guest Service Agent
Rebecca, our newest member, comes to us from an events and hospitality background bringing with her various facets of customer service. Rebecca spent a number of years living overseas, so along with her work experience she brings a worldly understanding that reflects within her warm attitude toward guests and her desire to provide a memorable stay. In addition, as a native New Yorker that is passionate about her city, she can provide solid recommendations and share personal experience to the uninitiated visitor. She’s glad to call NU her new home and hopes to make each guest feel just as welcome.
Damiean Campble, Guest Service Agent
Damiean is a hotelier and marketer with over six years of international experience in the hospitality industry, with expertise in guest services, and hotel management.
He strives at all times to provide exceptional service that will meet and exceed the expectation of all our guests and those who we partner with.

Raymond Garcia, Night Auditor
Raymond comes to us from a Museum background where he exhibited many strong skills that correlate to the Hospitality Industry. In pursuit of his Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality he started as an intern and quickly learned many necessary skills to merge both worlds and showed us he can get the job done; both on paper and through example. As a recent graduate and as current Night Auditor he makes sure that not only our guest sleep tight, but that we do too. Knowing he’s keeping watch makes us not have to look at ours.
